
Full-Time Minister Application Form
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the position of Full-time Pulpit Minister with McAlmont Church of Christ, following the retirement of Dr. Loyd C. Harris. We invite you to complete the following application form to be considered for this esteemed position.

Position Description Position: Ministerial Position General Responsibilities: The Pulpit Minister is the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible to the Lord and church to primarily proclaim the gospel and teach the Bible. He is engaged in ministerial care, provides supervisory and administrative leadership in all areas of congregational care including paid and volunteer staff. Specific Responsibilities: Worship •Plan for the orderly progression of meaningful worship services. •Prepares and delivers sermons and leads observances and achieving the church mission. Evangelism •Leads the church into an effective evangelism program. •Provides leadership in a caring ministry for those in the church and community. •Aids all ministry teams and members. •Encourage all ministries and members to engage in evangelism, become committed to Christ, and teaching the lost. Pastoral Ministry •Lead an effective program of visiting sick and shut-in members and prospects. •Conduct counseling sessions as required. •Conduct weddings and funerals as required. •Provide pre-marital counseling to couples. •Assists in making the congregation show kindness and love. Administration •Leads the church and leadership in planning and organizing to meet short- and long-term goals and objectives. •Directs, co-ordinates and evaluates all church programs and ministries in conjunction with deacons and other responsible persons. •Establishes annual goals for self in co-operation with elders and Board of Trustees. •Acts as moderator of church business meetings (unless another leader is elected moderator, i.e., Elder, Deacon and/or other member). •Serve as administrator of the paid church staff. •Supervise the work of ministry staff, both volunteer and paid ministers and directors. Community Outreach •Represent the church in civic matters. •On occasion attend community meetings. •Engage in opportunities to involve the church in community outreach projects. Christian Education Ministry •Teach in all Bible classes of the education ministry. •Conduct seminars and workshops to provide physical and spiritual growth of the congregation. Position Requirements •Strong commitment to God and the word of God. •High standard of ethics and integrity. •High standard in attitude, outlook with awareness of the importance of example. •Ability to organize and activate own responsibilities. •Works with the elders, deacons, board of trustees, church officers and committees/auxiliaries as they perform their assigned responsibilities. •Train men for leadership positions and appoint elders, deacons, and ministry leaders. Skills Required: •Strong people skills. Demonstrate ability to work and have a good relationship with people of all ages. •Basic strengths in preaching, pastoral care, worship leadership, with the ability to develop and affect these ministries. Knowledge of education process and techniques. •Understanding of, and commitment to, a sound theology of discipleship, and a willingness to share that doctrine to assist others to reach that commitment. Critical Qualifications: •Must be licensed and ordained (If not ordained, must be ordained within Six (6) months of hire date. •Education: A minimum of an associate degree and five (5) years of experience in the ministry or a combination of education and experience. •Must possess the following attributes: personal relation with Jesus, integrity, passion, vision, humility, fiscal responsibility, purpose driven, excellent communication skills, encourager, mentoring skills, peaceful, patient, a teacher, gentile, not quick tempered and demonstrate perseverance. •Develop a growth plan for the church and engage the ministers, deacons, and elders to assist in involving the entire church.
